Fields of Mistria has 69 Steam achievements in version 1.0. They cover nearly every major progression system in the game: the town story, Town Rank, Mines seals, relationships, farming and ranching, skills, festivals, the Museum, marriage, children, and late-game completion goals. If you played during Early Access, you do not need to restart simply to begin earning achievements. NPC Studio added retroactive achievement support so an existing save can receive credit for objectives the save already records.
This guide is organized as a practical completion roadmap rather than a wall of 69 disconnected names. Steam's live Global Achievements page remains the authoritative place to check the exact current achievement name and description, while the sections below explain which systems you should work on together and which goals deserve advance planning.

If you are returning after Early Access, start by loading your main save before deciding that an achievement is broken. Give the game and Steam time to evaluate the save state. Some achievements represent progression that the save can recognize immediately, while others may require you to perform a related action again or continue the system after updating.
Start with the easy story and town achievements
A large part of the achievement list follows normal progression. Steam's live list begins with goals such as finishing the prologue, repairing Caldarus' Shrine, meeting the town's residents, repairing the Eastern Road bridge, welcoming a pet, completing a first Museum set, and advancing through Town Rank.
That means a new player should not stop normal progression just to achievement-hunt during the first few weeks. Repair infrastructure, complete requests, donate to the Museum, earn Renown, explore the Mines, and unlock the town's major systems. Many early achievements will appear naturally.
Town Rank deserves special attention because version 1.0 raises the Town Renown cap to 100 and completes the Town Repair storyline. If your goal is 100%, continue taking requests and progressing the town even after the early ranks stop feeling essential. The later ranks and repairs connect several completion systems that are easy to neglect on a romance- or farming-focused save.
Mines, seals, and story progression
The Mines are another major achievement lane. Progress through each biome and complete the seal quests instead of treating mining only as an ore-farming activity. The achievement list tracks important progression milestones, and the completed 1.0 Mines storyline also unlocks content elsewhere in the game.
For an efficient save, combine Mines progression with Museum collection. Keep one copy of new artifacts, gems, fossils, fish, bugs, and other donation candidates before selling duplicates. This prevents the common situation where you reach late game but have to repeat many seasonal or exploration activities because useful collection items were sold months earlier.
Caldarus and Seridia also have unusual story dependencies compared with ordinary villagers, so completionists should finish the deeper Mines and seal progression before assuming their relationship routes are stuck. See the Caldarus guide and Seridia guide for those character-specific requirements.
Relationship, romance, marriage, and family achievements
Relationships become much more important in 1.0 because NPC hearts now reach 10 and the full release adds proposal events, weddings, marriage, and children.
A practical relationship route is:
- Talk to villagers regularly and use good gifts to raise friendship.
- Reach the heart thresholds needed for Heart Events.
- At 8 Hearts with a marriage candidate, decide whether to pursue Dating or the Best Friends route.
- Continue a Dating relationship to 10 Hearts.
- Complete the candidate's 10-heart progression and obtain the Engagement Ring recipe from Elsie.
- Craft the Engagement Ring and propose.
- Complete the wedding and married-life progression.
- If you want the family-related goals, continue until the optional Mystical Feather and child route becomes available.
You can date multiple candidates before making your final commitment, so there is no need to panic about choosing the first candidate who reaches 8 Hearts. Marriage is the important commitment point.
For the mechanics behind this route, use the romance guide, Heart Events guide, Marriage guide, Engagement Ring guide, and Children guide.
Skills and long-term progression
Do not ignore skills that are not part of your normal money-making routine. A completionist save benefits from deliberately rotating activities: farming, fishing, mining, ranching, cooking, crafting, archaeology, and the other skill systems all contribute to broader progression.
The easiest way to avoid a late-game grind is to spread these activities across the year. Fish while waiting for crops to grow, mine when you need ore, cook surplus ingredients, care for animals every day, and investigate dig spots or collection opportunities while moving between locations. When you reach the endgame, you want several skills close to their targets instead of one maxed skill and several neglected ones.
Version 1.0 also adds new perks, so players returning from an old save should revisit skill trees rather than assuming their pre-1.0 build represents the final progression state.
Museum achievements: donate before you sell
The Museum is one of the most time-consuming completion systems if you leave it until last. Version 1.0 makes the Museum completable and adds additional sets, including the Honey Set and Terrarium Treasures Set.
Use a simple rule throughout your save: first copy to the Museum, duplicates to storage or sale. Check whether a new item is needed before converting it into money or crafting material. Seasonal fish, bugs, crops, artifacts, and specialized collections are much easier to obtain when you are already in the correct season than when you discover a missing entry one year later.
The Museum also overlaps naturally with fishing, farming, archaeology, Mines exploration, apiaries, and terrariums, so work on those systems in parallel rather than treating the Museum as a separate endgame chore.
Festivals, calendar goals, and achievements that need planning
Calendar-based goals deserve more attention because you cannot always repeat them the next day. Check the Fields of Mistria calendar at the start of every season and reserve festival dates before committing to a long Mines run or another activity.
Birthdays are another reason to plan ahead. A loved birthday gift is much more efficient for relationship progress than a random daily gift, and relationship progress feeds directly into several achievement routes. Keep a small chest of reliable gifts so an important birthday does not catch you without ingredients.
If an achievement references a festival, birthday, wedding, or another scheduled event, treat it as a calendar objective first. Missing a normal crafting action costs minutes; missing a seasonal event can cost many in-game days.
An efficient 100% achievement route
For a fresh save, the least frustrating strategy is to complete achievements in overlapping lanes instead of one by one. During early game, focus on the prologue, town introductions, bridge and shrine repairs, the Museum, farming, and initial Town Rank. During midgame, push the Mines and seals while expanding animals, skills, collections, and relationships. During late game, finish Town Renown, Town Repair, the Museum, romance and marriage, family progression, and any specialized skill or festival objectives you missed.
Returning players should reverse the process: load the old save first, check what Steam awards retroactively, then build a cleanup list only from achievements that remain locked. This can save many hours compared with starting a second save without checking what your original save already satisfies.
What to do if an achievement does not unlock
First, verify the requirement on Steam's current achievement page rather than relying on an old Early Access guide. Then load the save fully and perform a normal in-game action so the game has a chance to update its state. If the achievement is tied to a repeatable system, try progressing that system once more—for example, complete another relevant action rather than repeatedly reloading the same screen.
Also keep your game updated. The early 1.0 patches included achievement-related fixes, so troubleshooting advice written on launch day may no longer describe the current build. Before assuming a save is permanently broken, compare your version with the latest NPC Studio patch notes.
Frequently asked questions
Does Fields of Mistria have achievements?
Yes. Steam currently lists 69 achievements, added with the version 1.0 release.
Do I need a new save for achievements?
No. NPC Studio specifically supports retroactive achievement awards for eligible progress on existing saves. Load your established save first and see which goals are recognized.
Are all 69 achievements story achievements?
No. The list covers a broad range of systems including town progression, Mines, relationships, skills, farming and ranching, festivals, Museum collection, marriage, children, and other long-term goals.
What is the best way to get all achievements?
Use one broad completionist save and progress overlapping systems together. Donate new collection items before selling them, keep Town Rank moving, rotate through skills, finish the Mines storyline, build relationships, and check the calendar every season.
Should I restart an Early Access save for 100%?
Not solely for achievements. Existing saves carry into 1.0 and can receive retroactive achievement credit. Restart only if you personally want a fresh playthrough.
