Fields of Mistria Town Repair Questline Guide

Complete the Fields of Mistria Town Repair questline from the first bridge repair through the Saturday Market expansion and Bell Tower, with Renown gates, materials, unlocks, and 1.0 endgame tips.

The Fields of Mistria Town Repair questline can finally be completed in version 1.0. What begins with Adeline asking you to repair the bridge grows into a long restoration campaign involving the Saturday Market, the Mill, shops, ranch facilities, the Inn, the Stone Refinery, the Carpenter's Shop, and eventually the Bell Tower. The most important planning rule is simple: raise Town Renown while keeping useful construction materials instead of selling everything you collect.

If you are returning from Early Access, older guides may stop before the final projects. Version 1.0 raised the Town Renown cap to 100, added the late Saturday Market expansion and Repair the Bell Tower, and made the town restoration storyline completable. For the Renown side of this progression, see the Town Rank and Renown guide. For the wider release changes, see the 1.0 guide.

How Town Repair progression works

Town restoration is not one giant quest that appears in your journal at the beginning. It is a chain of story and improvement projects. Some arrive through letters after you finish the previous project. Others also require a specific Town Rank. You normally meet the relevant characters, place requested resources into a Donation Box, and then speak to Adeline or the named quest character to finish the project.

This is why a missing repair quest is not always a bug. Check three things before troubleshooting: whether the previous town project is complete, whether your Renown level is high enough, and whether you have read the relevant mail or completed the introductory conversation.

Early restoration: repair the bridge first

The first major project is Repair the Bridge. Adeline sends the letter on Spring 3 of Year 1. Deposit 60 Wood and 60 Stone into the Donation Box beside the damaged bridge, then report back to Adeline. Completing the repair awards Renown and opens the Saturday Market.

That project establishes the basic loop for much of the storyline: gather resources, deposit them at the marked construction site, finish the conversation, then continue raising Renown while waiting for the next restoration objective.

After the bridge, the town begins opening more systems. You meet the Saturday Market vendors and progress through projects connected to Mistria's food supply and infrastructure. The Mill restoration is especially important because it becomes part of the production economy rather than merely changing the scenery.

Midgame repair projects

The middle of the questline asks for increasingly expensive stacks of Wood, Stone, metals, Glass and other processed materials. This is where players who sell every construction resource often create unnecessary grinding later.

Major projects across this phase include repairs or upgrades tied to the General Store, the Beach route, Hayden's ranch facilities and the Inn. Their permanent value is more important than the immediate Renown reward. Store upgrades expand useful stock, ranch improvements support the full animal roster, and the Inn is part of the prerequisite chain leading toward later restoration projects.

Keep a dedicated storage chest for town construction. Wood and Stone remain relevant far longer than their early-game availability suggests. As you move deeper into the Mines, also retain Glass, Peat, metal ingots, Crystal, Obsidian and other processed or late-biome materials.

For farm planning while you work through these projects, see the Crops Guide and Animals Guide.

Stone Refinery and the late-game chain

The late restoration route becomes much more dependent on Town Renown. One important milestone is the Stone Refinery, which supports Refined Stone and Essence Stone production. Refined Stone then appears repeatedly in later town projects, so unlocking the refinery changes how you should process raw Stone.

At Town Rank Level 65, the next major market upgrade requires substantial late-Mines resources. The current 1.0 quest data lists 20 Crystal, 8 Gold Ingots, 100 Hardwood, 20 Obsidian, and 50 Refined Stone for the Saturday Market upgrade. Completing it expands the market with additional vendors.

At Level 70, Upgrade the Carpenter's Shop continues the chain. Current quest data requires 30 Crystal, 100 Glass, 30 Obsidian, and 100 Refined Stone. This upgrade is particularly useful because it connects restoration progress to advanced home and farming options, including greenhouse-related content.

Do not wait until the quest appears to begin saving Glass and Refined Stone. The Carpenter project alone consumes enough processed material to make last-minute farming tedious.

Expanding the Saturday Market in 1.0

One of the important new endgame steps is Expanding the Saturday Market, also described by NPC Studio as the Saturday Market Plaza quest. It becomes available after the Carpenter's Shop upgrade and Town Rank Level 80.

The required materials are:

MaterialAmount
Voidite50
Refined Stone20
Mistril Ingot5
Monster Core10
Monster Block5

Deposit these resources at the Plaza west of the Blacksmiths and complete the quest with Adeline. The major reward is not simply Renown: Stillwell and Zorel begin appearing at the Saturday Market.

You then receive Meet the New Vendors. Visit the Saturday Market, speak with Stillwell and Zorel, and report back to Nora. This short quest is an essential prerequisite for the Bell Tower, so do not ignore it after spending all those resources on the plaza.

Stillwell also becomes important for late-game repeatable content through his Mission Board, while Zorel is connected to Song Crystals and Crystal Resonators and the Bell Tower system.

How to unlock Repair the Bell Tower

Repair the Bell Tower is the signature late-game town restoration project added in 1.0. To receive it, complete Meet the New Vendors and reach Town Rank Level 90 (Diamond). Zorel sends the relevant letter, after which you meet Zorel, Adeline and Landen at the Bell Tower.

You need four types of materials:

Bell Tower materialAmount
Refined Stone20
Hardwood30
Dragon-Forged Fang1
Dragon-Forged Core1

The first two are straightforward if you have been stockpiling construction resources. The Dragon-Forged items are the real endgame gate because they connect the town storyline to deep Mines progression and the Dragon Forge.

If your Mines progression is behind your Town Rank, stop grinding Renown temporarily and advance underground instead. The Mines unlock guide covers the earlier progression, while the Floor 90 puzzle guide covers the Ancient Ruins section where late-game Dragon Forge progression becomes relevant.

Deposit all four materials into the Donation Box outside the Bell Tower, then speak to Adeline to complete the project. The repair grants Renown and opens access to the Bell Tower. Current 1.0 quest data also ties the project to the Ringing Ovation achievement.

What the repaired Bell Tower does

The Bell Tower is not only a visual restoration. Inside, the music system gives the building a continuing purpose. Zorel's Saturday Market role connects to Sound Resonators and Song Crystals, allowing music customization after you have restored the structure.

This makes the final market expansion and Bell Tower a connected sequence rather than two unrelated late-game resource sinks: expand the market, meet Zorel, unlock the Bell Tower project, repair the tower, and then use the music-related content that the new vendor supports.

Best materials to stockpile early

You do not need to hoard every item in the game, but a town-repair chest saves a great deal of time. Prioritize Wood, Stone, Hardwood, Glass, Refined Stone, metal ingots, Crystal, Obsidian, Voidite, Monster Cores, and Monster Blocks. Once you enter Ancient Ruins progression, be careful with materials used in Dragon-Forged recipes as well.

The best approach is parallel progression. Raise Renown by shipping, Museum donations and quests while mining for future repair materials. Do not grind Renown to 90 first and only then discover that your Mines progression cannot produce the Dragon-Forged items required for the Bell Tower.

The Museum completion guide is especially useful here because first-time donations contribute to your broader completion goals while helping advance town progression.

Why your next Town Repair quest is not appearing

If the chain seems stuck, work through this checklist:

  1. Finish the active town improvement project and its final conversation.
  2. Read new letters at the farmhouse mailbox.
  3. Check your current Town Rank rather than only your total playtime.
  4. Complete prerequisite introduction quests such as meeting newly unlocked vendors.
  5. Advance the Mines if the next project requires materials from a biome you have not reached.
  6. Update to the current 1.0.x build if you are troubleshooting an old save.

For the late game specifically, remember the order: upgrade the Carpenter's Shop → reach Level 80 → expand the Saturday Market → meet Stillwell and Zorel → reach Level 90 → repair the Bell Tower → continue toward Mistril Rank 100.

Town Repair FAQ

Can the Town Repair questline be completed now?

Yes. NPC Studio's 1.0 update explicitly made the Town Repair Questline completable and raised the Renown cap to 100.

What Town Rank do I need for the Bell Tower?

The current quest data requires Town Rank Level 90 and completion of Meet the New Vendors before Repair the Bell Tower becomes available.

Why don't I have Zorel yet?

Zorel joins the Saturday Market after the Level 80 market expansion. Complete the Carpenter's Shop prerequisite, reach the required rank, finish Expanding the Saturday Market, and then attend the market.

Should I sell Refined Stone?

Keep a reserve during the restoration storyline. Late projects consume significant quantities of Refined Stone, especially the Carpenter's Shop upgrade and Bell Tower chain.

Does Town Rank 100 require another construction project?

The major final construction project documented in the current chain is the Bell Tower at Level 90. After that, continue earning Renown toward the Mistril Level 100 milestone and its 1.0 progression event.
