Fields of Mistria Town Rank & Renown Guide

Reach Town Rank 100 in Fields of Mistria with this 1.0 Renown guide covering every major rank milestone, Crown Requests, Museum donations, shipping, quests, and the Mistril rank.

Town Rank is one of the most important long-term progression systems in Fields of Mistria. Your town starts at Wood, Level 0, then rises as you earn Renown by shipping items, donating to the Museum, and completing quests. In the 1.0 release, the Renown cap was increased to Level 100, which is the new Mistril Town Rank. NPC Studio also added the Mistril Town Rank event and completed the broader Town Repair storyline, so reaching the top rank now feels like an actual endgame milestone rather than an Early Access stopping point.

If you are returning from an older save, the most important change is simple: the old caps are outdated. You can now keep progressing all the way to Level 100, collect the additional reward-chest prizes, unlock late Town Repair quests, and finish the town progression loop.

How Town Rank works

Town Rank and Renown are two parts of the same system. Renown is the point total you earn from helping Mistria, while Town Rank is the named milestone attached to that progress. The town begins at Wood, and higher named ranks are reached at 10-level intervals.

The 1.0 update officially raised the cap to 100 and added the Mistril Town Rank Event. This is the current end of the standard Town Rank track.

Each individual Renown level has its own point requirement, and the cost increases as you climb. According to the current 1.0 Town Rank data, reaching Level 100 requires 18,006 cumulative Renown. That number is useful as a completion benchmark, but you do not need to grind it all at once. Normal play across farming, requests, shipping, Museum completion, and story progression continually contributes toward it.

The most important Town Rank unlocks

Not every level is equally important. Several milestones unlock major systems or Town Repair quests, so these are the levels worth planning around.

LevelImportant unlock
10The Mines become available through the related story progression
20Lost and Found story quest
30Apiaries and Terrariums story quest
50Sapphire Rank and weekly Crown Requests
55Stone Refinery story quest
65Upgrade the Saturday Market story quest
70Emerald Rank and Upgrade the Carpenter's Shop progression
80Gold Rank and Expanding the Saturday Market progression
90Diamond Rank and Repair the Bell Tower progression
100Mistril Rank and the Mistril Town Rank Event

Some unlocks also require earlier quests to be finished, so hitting the Renown number does not always make the next story event fire instantly. If you reach a milestone and nothing happens, check your mail, Request Board, and unfinished Town Repair projects before assuming the game is bugged.

Best ways to earn Renown

There is no single activity you must spam from Level 0 to 100. The fastest practical strategy is to combine several systems that naturally overlap with normal progression.

1. Complete quests consistently

Story quests, Request Board tasks, special requests, and other quest categories commonly award Renown. Early in the game, even simple introductory quests often give 20 Renown, so ignoring the Request Board can slow your town progression more than expected.

As you reach the higher ranks, quest rewards become more valuable because the requests themselves become more specialized. Late-game tasks also overlap with systems you are already using, such as mining, cooking, ranching, fishing, and crafting.

2. Do Crown Requests every week after Level 50

At Sapphire Rank, Level 50, you unlock Crown Requests. These appear once per week and are specifically designed as higher-value Renown tasks from the Capital.

Many Crown Requests award substantially more Renown than ordinary requests. Current examples include requests involving crops, fish, berries, stone, ingots, furniture, animal materials, soups, archaeology materials, tools, flowers, and prepared food. The exact required items vary by request, so keeping a broad stockpile becomes very useful after Level 50.

This is one of the best reasons not to sell every resource immediately. A chest with spare stone, wool, feathers, berries, cooked dishes, and metal can turn a weekly Crown Request into an easy Renown payout instead of a multi-day scramble.

3. Donate new items to the Museum

Museum progression contributes to Town Rank while also moving you toward collection rewards and 100% completion. This makes first-time donations especially efficient: the same fish, bug, artifact, or plant can advance a Museum set and help your Renown progression.

In 1.0, the Museum can finally be completed, so Museum grinding is no longer a partial side activity. If you are pushing toward Level 100, use the Museum completion guide to identify seasonal or difficult sets before you waste an entire year waiting for a missed item to return. The new Apiary and Honey guide and Terrarium guide are useful for the 1.0 collection sets tied to those systems.

4. Ship items every day

Shipping items is one of the simplest repeatable sources of Renown. Because farming, ranching, fishing, foraging, mining, and cooking all produce sellable items, a normal profitable farm also contributes to Town Rank over time.

For efficient progression, do not focus only on the raw Renown number. Build a routine that generates both money and Renown: grow profitable crops, process or cook surplus when useful, sell excess animal products from your ranch, and ship duplicates after keeping quest and Museum needs in mind.

A practical Level 0 to 100 route

For Levels 0–30, prioritize story quests, basic Request Board tasks, Museum donations, and normal shipping. Your main goal is not to grind Renown in isolation; it is to unlock the Mines and early town systems while establishing a farm that produces regular sale items.

From 30–50, broaden your daily routine. Keep donating first copies to the Museum, work through Apiary and Terrarium progression when available, and avoid neglecting quests. Reaching Level 50 is a major turning point because weekly Crown Requests provide a stronger repeatable Renown source.

From 50–80, check Crown Requests every week. This is also a good stage to keep large material reserves instead of converting everything into cash. Town Repair quests at Levels 55, 65, 70, and 80 increasingly ask for crafted or late-game materials, so hoarding selectively saves time.

From 80–100, combine Crown Requests, late story quests, Museum completion, shipping, and the new 1.0 content. The Expanding the Saturday Market quest becomes especially important because it brings Stillwell and Zorel into the Saturday Market. Their arrival leads into additional progression, including Stillwell's Mission Board, Zorel's music system, and the later Bell Tower sequence.

Stillwell's Mission Quests are useful late-game Renown

After completing Expanding the Saturday Market, Stillwell gains a Mission Board on Saturdays. These missions focus on defeating specific monsters in the Mines and commonly award 100 Renown alongside unique furniture recipes.

That makes Stillwell's Mission Board especially valuable when you are already running the Mines for materials. Instead of treating combat and Town Rank as separate grinds, combine them: accept the mission, farm the required enemy, gather ores or monster drops at the same time, then return for the Renown reward.

The 1.0.4 patch also included fixes related to Stillwell quest tracking and monster naming, so check the latest update tracker if an older guide says those missions do not count correctly.

What happens at Level 90 and Level 100?

Level 90 is Diamond Rank and is tied to the late Town Repair progression that includes Repair the Bell Tower. This is one of the major 1.0 additions and helps carry the town storyline toward its conclusion. The complete prerequisites and materials are listed in the Town Repair guide.

At Level 100, you reach Mistril, the current maximum Town Rank. NPC Studio specifically added a Mistril Town Rank Event in 1.0, making the final rank a recognized game milestone rather than just another number in the reward chest.

The current Town Rank table lists 356 Renown as the requirement for Level 100 itself and 18,006 cumulative Renown to reach it from the beginning of the game. The Level 100 reward chest also includes a Large Essence Stone, useful for systems such as Water Sprite Statues.

Do not forget the Renown Rewards Chest

Each Renown level has a reward. These rewards are collected from the chest near the Request Board, and the track includes Tesserae, furniture recipes, clothing, stamina upgrades, Essence Stones, treasure boxes, and other useful items.

If you gain several levels quickly, visit the chest before assuming the rewards were automatically added to your inventory. Players returning from older versions may also have accumulated rewards waiting because earlier updates changed the cap and reward structure multiple times.

Town Rank troubleshooting

I reached a required level but the quest did not appear. Finish prerequisite Town Repair quests first, check your mail, and revisit the Request Board. Several quests depend on both a Renown threshold and earlier story completion.

My Renown progress feels extremely slow. Check whether you are skipping weekly Crown Requests, leaving the Museum mostly empty, or selling very little through the Shipping Bin. The system is designed to reward a mixture of town activities rather than one isolated grind.

I am Level 50 but cannot find Crown Requests. They begin after reaching Sapphire Rank and appear through the Request Board once per week. Read Adeline's related mail and clear other board progression if necessary.

I am near Level 100 and need faster Renown. Prioritize high-value Crown Requests, Stillwell Mission Quests, late Request Board tasks, unfinished Museum sets, and normal high-volume shipping. These all progress other useful systems at the same time.
